They are also very tasty ;)

Pizza

Makes two 10cm pizzas or several ‘mini’ pizzas

To make sauce…
1. set oven to 220c/425f gas mark 7. Peal one onion and chop.
2. Add chopped onion to pan and heat, add tinned tomatoes and a dessert spoon of tomato puree.
3. cook over a low heat and let it cool

pizza base

1. Put 150g of self raising flour in bowl and add 40g of butter to mixture. Cut butter
into blocks and rub in with fingers till it looks like breadcrumbs,
2. Add 50g of grated cheese to the mixture, mix this in, add about 3-4 tablespoons of
milk until it forms a smooth dough.
3. Divide the dough (if you want two pizzas) and roll out
4. Spoon the sauce over them, and decorate as wanted

Stick them in the now red-hot oven for 10-15 minutes.

We left the girls a pile of different toppings including cheese, ham, pineapple, mushrooms and sweet corn.

2 types of apple jam

A nice and slightly spicy jam that sets really well!

Ingredients-
7 cups of apples (pealed and cored)
6 cups of sugar
1/4 cups of lemon juice
1 tsp of cinnamon

How to make the jam-

a) Before you start, make sure that you have pealed and cored all the apples (store them in water with a splash of lemon juice if needed).

b) Slice all the apples finely (use a food processor if you want), place in a large saucepan and cook slightly over a high heat.

c) Add sugar to the pan, the lemon juice and the cinnamon and make sure that you stir continuously.

d) Let the mixture boil for about half an hour, or until thickened.
